JACK DAVENPORT

Thank you for your interest in DAVENPORT KNIVES. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm a "Florida Native", and I grew up in Dade City, a beautiful small and typically southern town in eastern Pasco County. Pasco County is located on the west coast of Florida and is close to Tampa.

As a young man with a passion for nature and the outdoors, I was thrilled when I was offered a position with the State of Florida as a wild life officer assigned to the Everglades. Some of my most fond memories are of those years in a most beautiful and wild part of Florida, but that's another story for another time.

When I'm not making knives, I enjoy boating, flyfishing and just about anything that involves the outdoors.

I've been making knives for approximately 20 years and recently, was very honored to have been presented with the Knifemakers' Guild's "Best Custom Folder" award at its 2005 show in Orlando. A photograph of that piece is featured below.

I enjoy making all types of knives...autos, linerlocks and straight knives. However, my true passion lies in multi-bladed slipjoints patterned after the old cutlers' creations from centuries past.

I am a voting member of the Knifemakers' Guild and a charter member of the Florida Knifemakers' Association.
